About

Established in 1771 by Sir Richard Arkwright, this is the world's first successful water-powered cotton spinning mill. Part of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site; visitors to Cromford Mills can enjoy the Arkwright Experience and Visitor Centre, guided tours, audio tours, a varied events programme, two cafés, and independent shops.
