Lullingstone’s history is vividly displayed and interpreted within a carefully designed building which makes this Roman villa an excellent and accessible tour group destination, whatever the weather. Tracing three centuries of affluent Roman domestic life, this prosperous ‘country house’ has spectacular mosaics, a heated bath suite and a succession of wall-painted pagan and then Christian ‘worship rooms’.
