Needles Old Battery and New Battery (National Trust), The

This spectacularly sited cliff-top fort was built in 1862 following the threat of a French invasion and has a fascinating military history through both World Wars and into the space age plus the best views of the Needles rocks. It is now owned by the National Trust.
