Ryhope Engines Museum
About
Based on the Ryhope Pumping Station and run by a charitable trust, the museum illustrates the high standards of Victorian mechanical engineering design and construction, exemplified by the enormous beam engines which were commissioned in 1868. The engines are in steam on most Bank Holiday weekends. Check website for details. Open Easter until December Sun 13.00 - 17.00.
