Tour this impressive artillery fort and appreciate its historically strategic location. Henry VIII built the first fort here and Elizabeth I chose nearby Tilbury to rally her troops against the 1588 Spanish Armada. It was King Charles II, in 1670, who ordered the construction of the fort that your group can visit today.
